There are people who can walk away from you.And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you... let them walk.
I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you.I mean hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you let them walk.Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.
The Bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us.For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. (1st John 2:19)
People leave you because they are not joined to you.And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay... Let them go.
And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.
You've got to know when it's dead.
You've got to know when it's over.Let me tell you something.I've got the gift of good-bye.It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me.And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it.Stop begging people to stay... Let them go!!
·If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to... LET IT GO!!!
·If you are holding on to past hurts and pains... LET IT GO!!!
·If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth... LET IT GO!!!
·If someone has angered you... LET IT GO!!!
·If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge... LET IT GO!!!
·If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction... LET IT GO!!!
·If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents... LET IT GO!!!
·If you have a bad attitude... LET IT GO!!!
·If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better... LET IT GO!!!
·If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him... LET IT GO!!!
·If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship... LET IT GO!!!
·If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves... LET IT GO!!!
·If you're feeling depressed and stressed... LET IT GO!!!
·If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying "Take your hands off of it," then you need to... LET IT GO!!!
Let the past be the past.Forget the former things.GOD is doing a new thing for 2005!!!
LET IT GO!!!
Get Right or Get Left... think about it, and then... LET IT GO!!!
“There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.He came as a witness to testify concerning that light so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.”
As Hurricane Ike was roaring in the Gulf of Mexico, many along Texas' coast were getting prepared for his arrival. The computer models predicted a certain path of expectancy.
Grocery stores quickly ran out of bottled water, canned goods and other non-perishable items. Home improvement stores had a run on plywood, generators, batteries and maybe coolers. Long lines could be found everywhere, including gas stations. We were trying to prepare ourselves for one of the biggest storms we may ever experience.
Admittedly, I had very few supplies compared to some – plenty of bottled water, ice, some canned goods, a manual can opener, batteries for flashlights and radio, and candles. But, I prepared by using the biggest weapon in my arsenal – my prayers – asking the Blood of the Lamb to protect my home, family and friends.
As the storm raged, I hunkered down in my home in complete darkness; not a star shone in the sky or any other light source near or far. Things I took for granted became strangely unfamiliar.Even while the winds banged the screens against the windows and tree limbs clanged like cymbals on the roof, I found peace! The beam of my flashlight illumined my path, reminding me of the Apostle John who directs us to the Light which removes any fear and darkness – Jesus IS the light of my life!
Have you ever been surrounded by such darkness that you couldn’t find your way? Other raging storms of a different sort have besieged me from time-to-time. God never promised my life would be easy; HE is with me in the midst of those storms, as HE was during the hurricane.
During this Advent season, I long for Jesus’ arrival – with the expectancy of a child on Christmas morning eagerly awaiting the surprise. Hear the word in Psalm 119:105 (The Message) –
“By your words I can see where I'm going;
they throw a beam of light on my dark path.
I've committed myself and I'll never turn back.”
GospeLines Prayer: Father, I am unworthy of the gift of Your Son, but I thank You for Your forgiveness and favor. You have protected me in ways and for many days when I thought I could rely on my own strength. I am truly powerless without You!
What a beautiful gift!

Like most people my age who are semi-computer literate, I am self-taught. So my ability to solve computer problems when they come up is limited. Like the time when the icons on my screen began to move around randomly on their own, like mice scurrying through the barn in every direction at the same time. The more I chased them the more elusive they became. It was both hopeless and humorous. That is, until I learned that what caused it was a dangerous computer virus named W32 Magistr.3992/@mm... then it wasn't funny anymore. The "W" stands for "Worm."
We know about viruses today. They attack our bodies, pets, plants and computers. And in some cases they can cripple us or even cause death. Viruses are nothing to fool around with. The solution for my computer was a heavy dose of an Antivirus software program, taken as directed. Viruses which attack our bodies sometime require a doctor's visit or some type of medication.
Sin has some of the same characteristics of a common virus. It is contagious if we get near it; you can't always see it coming; and the impact of it may not be seen for awhile after you've caught it. The best thing a Christian can do is avoid those situations which invite sin into their lives. It may mean we ought to avoid being around certain known carriers of the disease as well.
I can honestly say that I have only been infected by a virus once (not even a common cold virus) since Thanksgiving 1996. But I can't say that about the more dangerous "sin virus." It's a constant battle that we face every day of our lives. The solution to sin is a heavy dose of the Word of God, a generous baptism of the Holy Spirit, and a great big portion of prayer! Also, associate mostly with those people who work at staying healthy. Take your medicine regularly and get to know your Doctor on a first Name basis. His name is Jesus.
GospeLines Prayer:Great Physician, shield me from everything and everyone who would infect me with the deadly virus of sin. Most of all, protect me from myself. Lord Jesus, forgive me when I sin and restore me to your gracious throne.
Last Sunday during our Pastor’s sermon, I noticed someone reading the church bulletin.I was offended that someone was not giving our Pastor their full attention.I was so bothered by this that, for a few moments, I stopped giving him my full attention.
Driving on one of our freeways recently, I noticed a driver talking in a very animated fashion on their cell phone. As usual in this state, we were going about 80 mph in bumper-to-bumper traffic, four lanes wide.I was so offended by this person’s inattention to their driving that I almost failed to notice that the truck in front of me was slowing down.
This morning, my twin girls (12) were watching the news on TV while they ate breakfast.I joined them to discuss our plans for the weekend.During the conversation, I was offended that they kept diverting their attention back to the TV.I was so bothered by their lack of courtesy that I forgot to have our morning prayer.
How often do we let the actions of others dictate our reactions? Jesus said, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. (Matthew 7:12)I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.” (John 13:15-16)
Paul put this all together in his letter to Titus when he said, “And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good deeds of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.Let your teaching be so correct that it can't be criticized. Then those who want to argue will be ashamed because they won't have anything bad to say about us.” (Titus 2:7-8)
Every time I took offense at the actions of someone else, I took my eyes off of the Words of our Lord.Every time I took offense, I stopped setting the kind of example Christ commanded us to present to others.Jesus commanded that we love our neighbor and He defined “neighbor” as anyone needing our mercy. (Luke 10:27-37)
GospeLines Prayer:Father, we humbly ask in the name of Jesus for Your forgiveness for allowing the offenses of our neighbors to cause us to be distracted from Your Word.Help us Father to be examples of Your mercy and goodness.Give us the heart to forgive and the spirit to love.Teach us Father to walk in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior Jesus.Amen.
“…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but byMe.”

“Against All Odds”
She came into my office with high expectations, a glowing smile and eyes that exuded a new self-confidence.Her family had been on welfare status for several years and she would be the first to complete high school and move on to career training.I listened sadly to her story about searching for food behind fast food restaurants in the early morning hours, walking the streets at night to snatch her younger brother from the jaws of neighborhood gangs, and standing at the graveside of an uncle who was murdered in a drug deal gone bad.
Tameika needed a change, and her education could be the start of a new life. The only constant in her 19 years was the relationship she had with God.Unashamedly she spoke about her love for the church as she patted her tattered Bible in a purse she had found on the street. It was her prize possession.
Every day I have the opportunity to change lives in my role as admissions representative at a proprietary school. But I know that finding the funds for someone like Tameika is very difficult.I was praying as I walked down the hall to the financial aid office, hoping that a miracle could happen. But it was not to be.
Her exuberant smile changed in an instant when I broke the news that she didn't qualify for assistance.Heartbroken at the bad news, tears flowed quickly, hers and mine.We sat in silence for a long time until she spoke softly. "I don't why I ever think that something good can happen to me," she sobbed.
"But I won't give up!I know that my God has something better in mind for me and my family. And I am so excited about the future because one day it will happen.I just know it will."
Someone asked me the other day if I knew why good people had to endure hardship.I don't know the answer to that question.
But what I do know is that God showed me something through Tameika. She knows what it means to be down and not defeated!Through her pain she has developed a special knowledge of God that only comes through suffering. She knows how to see the beam of light through the darkness, and find hope when everything around her seems hopeless.I want to be that way, too.I want to be able to look at the enemy and say with assurance, "I will never give in... never, never, never."
GospeLines Prayer:Father, give me a faith that remains true even when I am faced with impossible odds.I want to learn to stand tall when I am knocked down, even if it means that I must live like Tameika to have that kind of faith... so let it be.
