"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.Dear friends, since God loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."
(1st John 4:10-12)
No matter what our daily trials are, we may face them with calm assurance that we are not alone.Others may mock us, deceive us, leave us stranded, and disappoint us in a thousand ways; but, we may be sure that the love which enabled Jesus to place Himself on the cross, is sufficient to sustain us through anything we face today.Amen and amen.
There’s a saying “Since God can not be everywhere, he created Mothers.”My daughter gave me a plaque with that saying that I cherish and keep prominently displayed in my kitchen.I’d like to take that saying a step further… “Since God can not be everywhere, He created Angels.”My Angels come in many sizes, shapes, personalities, nationalities and varying ages. They are my Sisters. They are Godly Women.
It matters little whether they’ve traveled along the path with me for a lifetime or more recently.God has a plan and purpose for bringing us together. We share a kindred spirit that a few people might understand.
I have been blessed with many Angels who’ve shared my joys, sorrows, disappointments and successes. They’ve even shared their faith and when we commune, we know there’s nothing any one of us can’t handle. We are God’s children and He is at the center of our joy.
My Angels can be found among friends, family, colleagues, my church family, and Prayer Warriors and they travel the highways and byways of my life. So, while I don’t have siblings, my life has been enriched beyond measure.
“When I was an infant at my mother's breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.”
(1st Corinthians 13:11-13 - The Message)
Today is Mother’s birthday.Every year on this date, I quietly reflect on what might have been. You see, God took her home with Him 16 months after I was born.Much to my dismay, I have no personal recollection, no memories to savor.Other relatives have told me about her and I have pictures. With all the love I’ve received over a lifetime, there’s still a void that isn’t totally fulfilled.
Flashback of Love
I thought I could put on paper the feelings I have inside.
And when I see your picture it reaffirms my pride.
I’m sorry we didn’t get to share much of our lives together.
It’s so unfortunate, because you are gone forever.
When I look before me I see a vision of beauty.
But I can only imagine the way you were in reality.
To know you was to love you, so I’ve been told.
Why can’t you be here for my arms to hold?
And where are you now with the counsel of your years.
Especially when I needed someone to wash away my fears.
If only I had known you is what I’ve said.
But that’s only an idea bouncing in my head.
Somehow I can only contemplate how it might have been.
For you to relive your life through me again.
I wonder if you’d really want me to know the pleasures and the
For it’s definitely been part of life for me and you.
But then again I’d give anything to see your smile and hear
From this day forward, and ever after.
But I guess I should be thankful for what I have… a mirrored
reflection of my past.
May whatever love I could have known, perpetually last.
From what I know, it is ironic how much our lives paralleled each other’s.(What a discussion we could have on our choices in life…)And, the older I become, the more I see in the mirror… I am my Mother’s child.
GospeLines Prayer:Father, my heart grieves for the Mother I never knew. No matter how briefly we were together, thank You for her love.I am also thankful for the other Mothers You sent to nurture, protect and teach me.I have been blessed.
I know Mother is with You and just like Your Son; she remains alive in my heart.

“No Untrained Solders Allowed”
If someone you love is a solder stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan, please take comfort in the knowledge that they have been well trained. Also know that our prayers are with them for a safe and speedy return home.Nonetheless, whether you are in Iraq, Afghanistan or not even in the military, you are in a serious and deadly war.
Today’s wars may not involve WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction); but, even with conventional weapons, they are doing grave damage to life and property. The war we are all in is fought with WED’s (Weapons of Eternal Destruction) and will not only kill the body, but will also kill the spirit. We shouldn’t be afraid of those who kill the body; but, we should be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body. (Matthew 10:28)
Christians don’t wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with have divine power to demolish strongholds. We destroy arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.(2nd Corinthians 10:3-5)
Would you go into war in Iraq without proper training or proper equipment? No way! Then why go to war against a much stronger adversary without the equipment and training of God? We are told to be sober and vigilant because our adversary (the Devil) goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1st Peter 5:8)
Our war is not against flesh and blood, but it is for keeps, an (eternal) life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when evil attacks, you’ll be able to stand your ground.Put on His armor by praying and by studying His Word
Pray… hard and long.Pray for your brothers and sisters everywhere.Keep your eyes open and do all you can to keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.Be alert and keep on praying for all your fellow warriors. (Ephesians 6:12-18)
Study God’s Word that is given to us so we may persevere in our struggle by holding on to our faith. Some have rejected the Word of God for the word of man and have shipwrecked their faith. Remember, by following the Word we can “fight the good fight” (1st Timothy 1:18); and say, like John Paul Jones who, when facing overwhelming odds in a battle against the British shouted, “I have just begun to fight!”
Since God is righteous, to enter into His presence, we must be righteous too. Not possible... unless, we receive that righteousness as a FREE GIFT from Jesus Christ, who lived a perfectly righteous life, then, on the cross He identified with our unrighteousness. HE TOOK OUR PLACE! Bore our sin, paid our penalty, died our death!
GospeLines Prayer: O, my precious Father, bless me now with Your perfect love. Empower this imperfect me to live in perfect harmony with Thee, that I may know righteousness, too. Amen and amen
