"We're back!  Finally!"

Have you missed us?  Brothers and Sisters, we have definitely missed you.  We've missed sharing the Word of our Lord with you and we've missed the daily contact with our fellow believers all over the world.

So many times, we allow circumstances to stand in the way of running the race as we'd like and as our Lord directs.  Fortunately, we are covered by His mighty and impenetrable armor and we have overcome those circumstances.

Tommy and Sherry have successfully relocated to their new home and are finally getting everything in order and back to "full speed ahead."  Most of our computer problems are behind us (Tommy's back on line, Ron's back on line and we'll have Sherry up and running with the Prayer Warriors very soon.)

Thank you for all your prayers and letters of encouragement.  They have meant the world to each of us.  Now, please join us in a prayer for believers everywhere, our GospeLines Ministry and for all our readers and faithful supporters.

Lord God... Our heavenly Father... We come to You boldly as Your children, brothers and sisters with our Savior Jesus, to ask Your blessings on this New Year.  Cover all those who call on the Name of Jesus with Your mighty Armor and let no weapon formed against them prosper.  Heal our bodies and forgive our trespasses in Jesus name and through His death and resurrection.  Equip and empower us through Your Holy Spirit Lord, to boldly speak Your Gospel to all the world.  Keep us strong, keep us close, and keep us ever vigilant as we await the glorious return of our Savior and King, Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah.  Amen!

Your servants,

Dr. TommyU, SherryU and Pastor RonU

"Pray the News"

The Carmelites of Indianapolis do not teach or nurse or spread the faith, as other Roman Catholic Sisters do.  They pray.  Secluded in a fortress of stone, behind thick, high walls to block the world, the eleven remaining Sisters of Carmel of the Resurrection live in austere silence.  The only sound is the prayer bell chimes.

The Sisters pray as they sit in rocking chairs, watching the birds peck seeds.  They pray as they walk through the courtyard garden.  They pray all the time, and seldom venture out into the world.  The silence has brought them joy, but it has also brought them a crisis.

Their average age is 70, and their number is dwindling... fast.  To ensure their ministry will survive, they have forsaken the seclusion they so cherish, hired a development director, and have gone online with their marketing plan to seek new blood.

After spending an hour with the Sisters, the president of their new ad agency asked the nuns:  "So, what do you do?"
"We pray," the sisters replied. "What do you pray?" "We pray the news." The Sisters devour current events, and one will don headphones during prayers to catch National Public Radio.

Oh, my soul!  How many times have I asked, "What shall I pray tonight?" What a marvelous lesson we can learn from these devout sisters, to pray for our state, our nation and the world.  In turn, we will be praying for each other!  And, prayers of intercession are among the highest types of prayers which can be uttered.  Beloved, let us join with the Sisters of Carmel and "Pray the News."

"Pour it on!"

2,000 years ago Peter repeated these predictive words of the prophet Joel: "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.  Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.  Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy" (Acts 2:17-18 & Joel 2:28-29).  At that moment, God began pouring His Spirit on His children - us.

However, Peter also said: "I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.  First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.  They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised?  Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." (2nd Peter 3:2-4)

And Timothy told us that: "There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - having a form of godliness but denying its power.  Have nothing to do with them."  (2nd Timothy 3:1-4)

Hebrews 1:2 tells us that the "last days" began when Jesus walked among us.  They will end when He returns.  All the prophesies are completed for his return.  It could happen tonight; or, it could be another 1,000 years.  However, most believe it is very soon.

As Peter and Joel told us, God is pouring out His Spirit on all of His children.  Those that receive His Spirit are spreading His Gospel to all the earth.

Are you receiving His Spirit?  Are you sharing that message?  Are you telling all who will hear that they are God's creation (Colossians 1:16); that He loves them (John 3:16); and, that He wants to heal them (1st John 3:8 & Hebrews 13:8).  Are you repeating Peter's Day of Pentecost message: "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

If you're not, time is short; why not start today.  Please, say this prayer with me.  Say it out loud so that your words will be released into action by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Lord... Father... In the mighty name of Jesus, my Savior and King, I ask for your Spirit to fill me now.  Let Your Spirit overflow within me and direct my soul, my mind, so that my words and deeds will be only as You direct.  Let me share from the overflow will all those around me.  Cover me with Your mighty armor and fill me with a resolve that cannot be shaken or turned away from your direction.  Forgive me for not always running the race so as to win the prize and help me Father, to boldly speak your words of prophesy and hope in these last days so that as many as will hear and believe will be saved.  Amen and Amen!

Your servant,

Pastor RonU
